The Story of this yacht
A sailing race trimaran – (ex B&Q – Ellen Mc Arthur’s trimaran)
After her amazing single-handed race around the world, Vendee Globe in 2001, where she finished 2nd, Ellen Mc Arthur faced a new challenge : break the solo round the world Record.
She had this trimaran built in Australia in 2004 and she sailed around the world successfully in 2005.
Then the trimaran is sold to the Professional team OMAN SAIL and skippered once again, around the world by a French skipper : Loik Gallon. In 2009, the crew sailed 24,000 nm around the world, during 76 days.
This boat is absolutely reliable.
Then in 2010, the boat is sold tyo an individual and has particpated to the famous transatlantic race Route du Rhum in october 2010.
Today, the boat is in a boatyard in Brittany and is being modified to get more performance and make it reliable for the future coming Record France to China.
Loik Gallon is consultant in the actual boat refit for the CYO’s team.
The boat will then get the Title-Sponsor name.
